# Can I drive Broadcast from my own app or an agent?

> Broadcast exposes a REST API, a command-line tool, and an MCP server for Claude Code, so applications and AI agents can manage subscribers, broadcasts, and sequences.

Yes, three ways, and they all sit on the same permissions model.

## REST API

Full coverage of the things you would automate:
[subscribers](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-subscribers),
[broadcasts](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-broadcasts),
[segments](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-segments),
[sequences](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-sequences),
[templates](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-templates),
[opt-in forms](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-opt-in-forms),
[email servers](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-email-servers),
[webhook endpoints](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-webhook-endpoints), and
[transactional email](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-transactional-email).

Start with [API Authentication](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-authentication) for tokens, scopes, and the rate
limit. Read [API Response Warnings](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/api-response-warnings) too: write requests can
succeed while doing something other than what you asked, and the `warnings` array is
where that shows up.

Tokens are scoped per resource, so an integration gets only the access it actually needs.

## Command line

The [CLI](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/agents-cli) wraps the same API for scripting and
one-off operations without writing HTTP calls.

## MCP server

[An MCP server](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/agents-mcp) exposes Broadcast natively to
Claude Code, so an agent can work against your install directly. The
[agents overview](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/agents) compares the three approaches, and
[setup links](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/agents-setup-links) are time-limited credentials
for onboarding an agent without pasting a long-lived token.

![The Webhook Endpoints page listing endpoints and the event types each one subscribes to](https://sendbroadcast.net/assets/docs/webhooks/webhooks-index-05e949aa.png)

Outgoing endpoints, each subscribed to the events your own application cares about.

## Events going the other way

For your app to react to what happens in Broadcast, use
[outgoing webhooks](https://sendbroadcast.net/docs/webhooks). They cover delivery, opens,
clicks, bounces, and complaints, with signature verification and a documented retry
schedule.
