The full price picture, July 2026

Broadcast is self-hosted email marketing software sold as a one-time license. The Regular License covers one server and costs $250 $150 right now (code JUN26OFF applies automatically at checkout). The Extended License covers up to 25 servers and costs $1,000. Both include unlimited subscribers, every feature, and all 2.x updates. Ongoing costs go to other vendors, not us: a server at $6-20/month (Hetzner, DigitalOcean) and your email provider’s send rate (Amazon SES runs about $0.10 per 1,000 emails). Every purchase carries a 30-day money-back guarantee.

Both licenses are the same software. Every feature ships to every customer. The only differences are how many servers you can install on and priority support on Extended. What you’ll never pay us for

The license price is the whole price. Four things other tools bill for that we don’t.

Per-subscriber tiers

Your bill from us is identical at 1,000 contacts and at 100,000. There is no tier to outgrow.

Send limits

We don’t meter your sending. Your email provider charges per send; we never do.

Feature unlocks

There is no Pro tier and no paid add-on. Every feature is in every license, including Regular.

Surprise overages

No usage caps from us that trigger a bigger bill. Nothing on your invoice moves after purchase.

What it costs to run, all in

The license is the only money you send us. Running Broadcast adds two bills from other vendors: a server ($6-20/month at Hetzner or DigitalOcean) and an email provider (Amazon SES charges about $0.10 per 1,000 emails). Here is the whole picture at three list sizes, assuming one newsletter a week.

List size Emails/month Broadcast: year one Broadcast: year two on Typical SaaS: per year
10,000 ~40,000 $370-540 $120-290 $1,200-2,300
50,000 ~200,000 $560-730 $310-480 $4,200-6,000
250,000 ~1,000,000 $1,520-1,690 $1,270-1,440 $13,000-20,000

Broadcast columns: license at the $250 list price (year one only) plus server and Amazon SES at four sends a month. SaaS column: published mid-2026 prices for tools like Mailchimp, Kit, and ActiveCampaign at each contact tier, rounded to a range.

The gap grows with list size, because SaaS tools bill per contact and we don’t. At 10,000+ subscribers, the switch typically pays for itself within a couple of months. Run the calculator with your own subscriber count and send frequency, or read why we price this way.

How buying works

Four steps from checkout to your first campaign.

  1. 1

    Check out through Stripe

Pay by card. Right now, code JUN26OFF is applied for you at checkout; the Regular License is $150 instead of $250.

  2. 2

    Get your license by email

Delivery is instant, straight after checkout. No waiting on a sales call or an approval queue.

  3. 3

    Run the automated installer

Point it at a fresh Ubuntu server ($6-20/month at Hetzner or DigitalOcean). The installation guide covers every step.

  4. 4

Connect your email provider and send

Broadcast sends through your own account with Amazon SES, Postmark, SendGrid, Resend, or any SMTP relay. You pay their per-send rate directly.

30 days to change your mind

Every license comes with a 30-day money-back guarantee. Buy it, install it, send real campaigns to your real list. If Broadcast is not the right fit, email us within 30 days and we refund the license. No questions asked. Details on the guarantee page.

Who shouldn’t buy this

Broadcast is self-hosted. You run it on your own server, keep it updated, and own the operational side. If you never want to touch a server, a managed SaaS tool is the right call, and no table on this page changes that.

Pricing questions, answered

Is Broadcast a subscription?

No. You pay for the license once and own the software. There is no renewal, no annual fee, and nothing to cancel. Your only recurring costs are your server and your email provider, and you pay those vendors directly.

What happens after version 2.x?

Every license includes all 2.x updates. When we shipped version 2, version 1 customers got it free. We can’t promise every future major version will be free forever, but that is our track record. Either way, your installed copy keeps working: the license does not expire.

Do you install Broadcast for me?

No, but installation is scripted. The automated installer sets up Broadcast on a fresh Ubuntu server, and the installation guide walks through every step. If you get stuck, email support is included, and the 30-day guarantee covers you if it doesn’t work out.

What’s the difference between Regular and Extended?

Server count. Regular covers one server; Extended covers up to 25. The software and features are identical. Extended exists for agencies and consultants who run installations for clients, and it adds priority email support.

What do I pay after the license?

Two bills, neither to us: a server at $6-20 a month (Hetzner and DigitalOcean are the usual picks) and your email provider’s send rate. On Amazon SES that is about $0.10 per 1,000 emails, so a weekly newsletter to 10,000 people costs about $4 a month to send.

Is there a free trial?

Not a timed trial, no. The live demo is free and shows you the real product. Past that, the 30-day money-back guarantee is the trial: buy it, run it on your own server for a month, and take the refund if it isn’t right.
