Pick Klaviyo if you have a large list, someone who works on email full time, and you will use its predictive data and reporting. Both are built for online stores, both connect to Shopify, WooCommerce and BigCommerce, and both charge by contact.
Quick answer
Omnisend Standard costs about $20 a month at 1,000 contacts, $132 at 10,000 and $413 at 50,000. Klaviyo’s email plan costs about $30, $150 and $720 at the same sizes. Omnisend is cheaper at every size, and the gap is widest on big lists. Klaviyo is stronger on segmentation, predictions and reporting.

| Contacts | Omnisend Standard | Omnisend Pro | Klaviyo Email |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1,000 | $20 | $59 | $30 |
| 10,000 | $132 | $150 | $150 |
| 50,000 | $413 | $715 | $720 |
Omnisend Standard starts at $16 a month for 500 contacts and Pro at $59, from omnisend.com/pricing. Omnisend often shows a discount for the first months, so the price on its page can be lower than the table. Tier prices for Omnisend come from EmailToolTester and SendX. Klaviyo prices come from EmailToolTester’s Klaviyo breakdown. Full Klaviyo tables are on our Klaviyo pricing page.
What each plan lets you send. Omnisend Standard allows 12 times your contact count in emails each month, so 120,000 emails at 10,000 contacts. Pro has no fixed cap, with a fair-use limit of 60 times your list. Klaviyo’s email plan includes a monthly send allowance that grows with the tier.
Who counts as a contact. Klaviyo bills on active profiles: anyone who can receive marketing email, whether you emailed them that month or not. Omnisend bills for subscribers and for non-subscribers who received automated messages, such as a shopper who got an abandoned cart email. Neither charges for unsubscribed contacts. On both, a store that collects many buyers who never opted in can see its count grow faster than its list.
Omnisend’s US SMS price starts at $0.009 per message and drops to $0.007 at high volume.

Klaviyo’s push and WhatsApp details are from its help center: push notifications and WhatsApp in flows. Omnisend’s support hours are from Omnisend’s own comparison and Venture Harbour’s review.
It costs less at every list size, and the gap grows. At 50,000 contacts Omnisend Standard is about $300 a month cheaper than Klaviyo’s email plan. Its prebuilt workflows cover the ground most stores use: welcome, cart abandonment, product abandonment, order and shipping confirmation, and cross-sell. Email, SMS and web push can sit in the same automation. Support answers around the clock.
Its data. Klaviyo predicts each customer’s lifetime value and churn risk, compares your numbers with similar stores, and gives you more ways to slice a segment. It also supports WhatsApp and mobile app push, which matters if you have your own app. For a large store with an email team, those tools can earn back the extra cost.
Small or mid-sized store, one person doing marketing: Omnisend. You get the flows that matter and a smaller bill.
Large store with an email team: Klaviyo. Use the predictive data, or you are paying for it for nothing.
Store with a big list that mostly gets newsletters: check how many of those contacts each tool would bill you for. Both charge more as the list grows. Broadcast, which we make, is self-hosted email marketing for $250 once, sending through Amazon SES at about $0.10 per 1,000 emails, with your subscriber data on your own server. It has no Shopify integration and no cart flows, so it fits newsletters and sequences better than store automation. The pricing calculator compares the costs at your size.
Yes, at every list size. At 10,000 contacts Omnisend Standard is about $132 a month and Klaviyo’s email plan about $150. At 50,000 the gap is about $413 against $720.
Omnisend is free for 250 contacts and 500 emails a month. Standard starts at $16 a month for 500 contacts and Pro at $59 for up to 2,500. At 10,000 contacts Standard costs about $132 a month. Lists over 150,000 contacts get custom pricing.
For predictive analytics, segmentation depth and WhatsApp, yes. For price, web push and support hours, Omnisend is ahead. Most small stores won’t use enough of Klaviyo’s extra depth to pay for it.
Sometimes. Omnisend bills for non-subscribers who received automated messages, such as abandoned cart emails. Unsubscribed contacts are not billed.
Yes. Export your profiles and consent status from Klaviyo, import them into Omnisend, and rebuild your flows there. Flows don’t transfer between the two, so plan time to recreate and test each one.
Comparisons cover the tradeoffs. How To covers whether Broadcast does the specific thing you need, organized by what you are trying to accomplish rather than by feature name. If the answer is no, it says no.
One-time payment, unlimited emails forever
"I was tired of spending hundreds per month on Beehiiv to send emails. […] Then I found Broadcast and now I can scale at my own pace without burning money I worked hard for."
